A Lagos based agro-food company is currently recruiting for the position of sales manager.
The Sales Manager will strategically lead, manage and coach a team of Account Executives to drive availability and sales of products through our contact strategy with key Grocery customers. You will also ensure that the sales plan is aligned with the Supermarket channel strategy and overall business plan.
Duties of the sales manager include to:
• Devise a strategic sales plan
Recruit and retain a highly motivated and driven team.
• Lead, manage and coach Regional Account Executives in the principles of account management and ways of working.
• Spend a minimum of day per month with each regional account executive in trade visiting customers.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.
• Carry out monthly performance check ins and quarterly reviews.
• Ensure each team member has goals and responsibilities which are set annually and reviewed ongoing.
• Objectives for new starters to be set by the end of the first 3 months in role.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with the team, holding regular one to one and team meetings.
• Ensuring improvement in vendors daily sales.
• Ensuring availability target is achieved.

REQUIREMENTS
• Proven regional or national account sales management experience (ideally 5 years +)
• Sales planning and understanding the customer with strong interpersonal client relationship skills.
• Comfortable analysing data and developing appropriate action plan
• Leadership skills
• Problem Solving/Analysis.
• Results Driven
• Minimum of first degree or Higher National Diploma
• The Ideal person must have financial and business acumen.
• Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in sales of FMCG with multi-cultural/multinational Environment and must have been in a sales leadership role
IT skills (MS office – Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
