Supervises: Boarding Students
Duties and Responsibilities
The School nurse/House parent will:
● Provide medical care, limited to first aid, for the sick and injured students
and staff.
● Send weekly reports and incident reports to school management and
parents, respectively.
● Provide education about diagnosis, treatment of medical conditions and
appropriate preventive measures.
● Assess real or potential health hazards within the environment.
● Check vital statistics of students and staff.
● Dispense and ensure the proper administration of prescription medication or
vitamins brought in by parents for the students.
● Manage medical information and medical history of students and staff.
● Accompany students on local excursions or outings.
● Manage the healing bay, to provide effective medical response to students
and staff, during school hours.
● Give periodic health talks to relevant stakeholders.
House Parents Duties:
● Ensure the safety of all boarders and maintaining discipline in the hostel.
● Maintain hostel facilities and equipment and reporting any damage.
● Ensure boarding schedules are followed.
● Ensure that living and hygienic standards are constantly maintained in the hostel and kitchen.
● Accompany students on weekend outings.
Education and Work Experience:
The ideal candidate must possess:
● First degree in Nursing and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery
Council of Nigeria.
● Five (5) years post qualification experience.

● Ability to deal with pre-teens and teenagers.
